Nuestro objetivo en Proyecto Chispa es inspirar y capacitar a la educación hondureña con proyectos de bibliotecas escolares a través de donaciones de libros, desarrollo de talleres para maestros e involucramiento de voluntarios nacionales e internacionales.

Durante los últimos años, Proyecto Chispa ha creado alianzas con maestros de Honduras, alcaldes, padres de familias, superintendentes y voluntarios nacionales e internacionales para traer más de 62.000 libros a 110 escuelas y organizaciones diferentes.

Marketing and Communication Specialist
(Full-time, Tegucigalpa)

Role Overview

This position manages Chispa Project’s communications and marketing efforts, including social media, in-house graphic design, donor relations, website management, fundraising outreach, volunteer trips, and email marketing to a U.S. and English-speaking audience.

The ideal candidate has a nonprofit background and is an innovative thinker who is detail-oriented and can work well autonomously. The Marketing Specialist will provide marketing and communications support to fundraising, events/volunteer trips, and donor relations activities.

This position requires native-level English and professional-level proficiency in Spanish.

This is a newly-created position. We are looking for the right candidate that fits best with our team. We would be willing to adapt this job description for the right person, based on their strengths and various needs of Chispa.  Responsibilities

·       Serve as the primary in-house graphic designer for Chispa Project, providing design support for both print and digital projects—including social media posts, fundraising campaigns, and one-pagers—that aligns with the organization’s branding

·       Maintain Chispa Project’s website (hosted in Squarespace) and social media accounts

·       Develop a donor relations plan and write reports to keep donors regularly updated on the organization’s activities

·       Create the monthly newsletter, manage email lists, and review analytics

·       Write content for Chispa Project’s blog, fundraising campaigns, and reports

·       Edit videos for fundraising campaigns and create volunteer trip slideshows

·       Assisting with U.S. volunteer, short-term trips (find details at chispaproject.org/volunteertrip) requiring travel around Honduras to accompany volunteers 4 - 6 weeks per year.

·       Any additional work as necessary

 

Qualifications/Preferences

·       3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally for an international nonprofit organization

·       Strong storytelling skills and experience working with in-country teams on content collection

·       Graphic design skills (Canva) and comfort with basic video editing

·       Experience with Squarespace, email marketing programs, CRM systems, video editing, Slack, and the interest and ability to quickly learn new technologies

·       Experience working across cultures and with various audiences (donors, local communities, in-country staff, board members, etc.)

·       Comfort reviewing analytics and taken a data-driven approach to work

·       Proven ability to take complex topics and make them digestible for different audiences

·       Passion for Chispa Project’s mission

·       Professional-level Spanish proficiency

·       Previous remote experience preferred

Our Tegucigalpa office is located in Col. San Ignacio, hours are 9 am - 5pm Monday - Friday.
