Alfredo Diaz grew up in rural Honduras and now wants to sponsor a library in his hometown with the help of Chispa Project, a 501(3)c not-for-profit organization. He only needs 100 friends to give $30 to bring 500 books to these children for the first time!
"I was born and raised in the western part of Honduras, one of the poorest regions in the Americas. When I was growing up in I did not have access to any story books, except one borrowed from my cousin and the family Bible.
My wife and I now live in the U.S., and we invest a lot in books. I can see how excited my children are when they get new books. I can't imagine how my children would be if they would not have their story books, especially before going to bed. Books are windows that help explore many things that we would not have access to otherwise. Books also help develop children's imaginations and a habit of reading. I am very passionate about reading and I hope we can bring books to those children in the village where I was born and raised.
Please join me and give $30 today to help reach my goal and donate 500 books and create a school library."
