Alfredo Diaz grew up in rural Honduras and has already partnered with Chispa Project to sponsor a library in his hometown. This first library project was inaugurated in June 2018, and was a huge success. Alfredo's goal is to do 6 libraries in total, and we're already on his second library! Chispa Project matches dollar for dollar what he raises with your help.
These next five schools are all in the surrounding villages, that are two hours down a dirt road bordering Honduras and El Salvador. The libraries will benefit over 1,000 students in grades K-9 with 3,000 new books. Our comprehensive library program provides training for teachers, students, and local community leaders to run their library as well as how to use books more creatively in the classroom. Thank you so much for your continued support in this remote area of Honduras!

"I was born and raised in the western part of Honduras, one of the poorest regions in the Americas. When I was growing up in I did not have access to any story books, except one borrowed from my cousin and the family Bible.
I am very passionate about reading and I hope we can bring books to those children in the village where I first became a teacher. Please join me and give $50 today to help reach my goal and donate 500 books and create a school library. With your generosity we can bring books to those children in the villages where I was born and raised. With gratitude and sincerity, thank you." -Alfredo Diaz |
